Motorcyclist In Critical Condition Following Crash With Car

An off-road motorcycle rider is in critical condition following a crash with a car on Sunday.

The accident happened around 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, at the intersection of Plantation Street and Natural History Drive in Worcester.

At that time, a 2002 Volkswagen Golf attempted to make a left from Plantation onto Natural History Drive when it collided with a Yamaha off-road motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed with a pack of other motorcyclists, police said.

The motorcyclist who was hit by the car is 26-years-old and from Worcester. The man, who police did not identify, was rushed to the hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries. As of Monday around noon, the man was in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the Volkswagen is a 73-year-old man who was not injured in the crash, police said.

An investigation is ongoing.
